Allardyce no longer England’s manager due to off-field controversy. Bookmakers favourites for his replacement include Bruce, Pardew, Klinsmann and even Beckham

The FA mutually agreed to part ways with Sam Allardyce, now-former England national team manager, after only one match as a result of player transfers scandal.

Despite coaching the national team of England only in one match, a last-minute win in World Cup qualification with Slovakia, Sam Allardyce already found himself being on everyone’s lips. Unfortunately for him, it was not because of his good start but due to the possible allegations of him offering his services inlcuding player transfers fraud and manipulation of third-party player ownership rules. Allardyce was secretly filmed by The Daily Telegraph reporters who were in undercover pretending to be far east investors. England’s coach explains in the video how to trick the rules that FA enforced in 2008 of player transfer payments and third-party ownership of the players in England.

Remembering that Allardyce was already under similar corruption investigation by the FA in 2006 it was very likely that he could say goodbye to his spot as England’s boss. The odds were very high against him as for whether he will be managing England in their next match against Malta or not and proved to be true. His contract was terminated on mutual agreement as it was explained in the statement posted by the English Football Association yesterday evening. FA chief executive Martin Glenn explained that in the light of the allegations they must part ways with Allardyce, who apologised and regretted his behaviour, because the integrity of the federation and the image and standars of English football are the priority. For the four upcoming matches, Gareth Southgate, the under-21 coach of England will temporarily take charge of the senior team (thefa.com).

What is more, the bookmakers already predict the Big Sam’s replacement. Sky Bet odds favourite apart from current team caretaker Gareth Southgate 6/4 (2.50) is Steve Bruce 2/1 (3.0), his chances being high due to his current unemployment and his expressed interest in the position of England’s manager. He is then followed by Glenn Hoddle 6/1 (7.0) and Alan Pardew 8/1 (9.0), whose Crystal Palace side after poor start presented very good form in recent matches. Same odds are presented for Eddie Howe 8/1 (9.00) who can also replace Wenger at Arsenal depending on team’s results during this capaign.

The rest of the contenders include both young managers and former players like Alan Shearer 25/1 (26.00), Gary Nevile 25/1 (26.00) or even Ryan Giggs 33/1 (34.00) as well as foreign, renowned coaches like Jurgen Klinsmann 10/1 (11.00), Roberto Mancini 28/1 (29.00) and Guus Hiddink 25/1 (26.00). In Sky Bet’s odds table we could even find David Beckam 66/1 (67.00) at the very end, although with his zero manager experience and other ventures his odds are very low.

Below we present a full table of all potential candidates for Allardyce replacement by Sky Bet.

Hope they'll find someone capable. Maybe Klinsmann or Redknapp, everyone except fo Neville and Wenger, they are no good. Btw. Allardyce was never a good choice, why they appointed him in the first place...

The English football was never in such a poor condition. Not only the national team is a joke but think about all the wasted money on over-priced players. Allardyce looked like a giant, happy teddy bear, it is sad to know he was a fraud. Where are the rules and standards that English football once created?
