Betfair prolonged agreement with the Snooker Association
The British betting exchange Betfair signed a sponsoring agreement with the World Billiard and Snooker Association (WPBSA).
According to the conditions of such agreement the online operator will become the title sponsor of the exclusive tournament The Masters, which will take place in the middle of January the following year in London. Now this tournament is called Betfair Master and will be broadcasted in 68 countries with audience of more than 180 million people.
Masters is a professional non-rating tournament, which takes place yearly beginning with 1975. The main prize of the tournament in the following year will make 175 000 pounds. Not many and only by special invitations can get to this prestigious tournament.
As known the betting exchange has already more than once been a sponsor of different kinds of snooker tournaments. In the past Betfair was a titled sponsor of Shoot-Out and German Masters, and it also actively maintains the European Snooker tour. The main expectation of the British company is of course promotion of its brand due to live broadcasts on the world-wide popular channel BBC.
