Who will win in the Madrid Europe’s derby? Champions League final betting tips

It has been just two years since the memorable final in Lisbon, when the eternal opponents from Madrid met in the Champions League’s final. Who will be the main triumphant this time?

Real with 11th cup or Atletico for the 1st time?
The clock at Estadio da Luz showed 94th minute when at first Sergio Ramos equaled the score in the match and then in extra time Real thrashed Atletico, due to what Real won the desired tenth cup of the Champions League. Their final triumph (together with extra time and penalties) is estimated at 3/4, while for Atletico bookmakers have set odds at the level 11/10. The odds for the winner in the main time look better – 29/20 and 2/1 respectively. Nevertheless, are Real Madrid’s players worth to be considered as a definite favorite?

Atletico likes to play against Real
The finals are specific matches, which are regulated by their principles. The pressure often blocks even the biggest stars, meanwhile to others it gives power in doubtful moments. The footballers of both teams have a long season behind them, those players who were exploited the most are ok to feel tired. And although Atletico has a narrower lineup and its rotation is not often present, due to several arguments we do not recommend to deprive the “Mattressers” chances for the win.

First of all, Simeone’s players know how to play against Real. Since the Lisbon final both teams have met 10 times and only once the Merengues won, in its turn Atletico won 5 times. Five times Atletico’s goalkeepers kept their gates dry. So, we are surprised by even a 37/20 odds for Ronaldo and co will not being able to overplay Jan Oblak this time (only 18 lost goals in 37 matches of the league). Despite that seven out of ten last matches ended with the option under 2,5, the bet here is quite low (27/50), so it may be worth to bet on over 2,5 goals. The odds look attractive (31/20), and in case of any team scores the first goal in the first half, the match will become more open, what will bring chances for following goals. Braver bettors can also bet not large amounts on both teams score in both halves (22/1). By an offensive potential of the Galacticos and performance of Atletico, it can be quite likely.

Secondly, it is hard not to praise the class and quality of gaming of the team, which on its way to the final eliminated (not being a favorite) Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and fought virtually on even in the league with richer opponents. You cannot take it for a chance, since the gaming style, devised by Diego Simeone may be not the most spectacular, but it is the most effective and repeated. Maybe due to this it is worth to bet on an exact result 1:0 for Atletico with the odds 7/1? Or let’s suppose that Real’s players will start the match not in full concentration – Atletico’s goal till the 15th minute with the odds 15/1.

The following argument showing a bit of Atletico’s advantage is the fact that a week earlier Real ended the fight for the champion’s title of the Primera Division. Surprisingly this can be a good news in the context of preparing to the final, Atletico’s players will have more time for rest and cure of any small injuries. All the club’s actions are concentrated on preparation to the most important match of the season.

Zidane brought new life to Real

It is hard to argue that the legend of the club and the owner of the memorable goal in the final of WC 2003 in Glasgow, Zinedine Zidane has changed the Los Galacticos. Highly paid stars felt themselves badly under the management of a perfectionist and a person not taking any objections, Rafael Benites. Zidane freed the players from tactical schemes and gave them what they were waiting for – more freedom in the offensive. Ronaldo, Bale, Benzema did not need anything more.

As the game in the attack with such potential was never a problem here, the situation in the defense not always looked perfect. Now, irrespective of some misconceptions the Merengues play rather decent in the defense, what is a big merit of the extraordinary confident Keylor Navas. A great idea of Zizu was to set the aggressive Kasemiro right before the defenders. The strong Brazilian takes away the ball from the opponent without problems, after what quickly passes to Modric or Cross, who perfectly know how to serve the BBC trio.

Knowing Real’s possibilities in the attack the odds (19/10) look very attractive, that the Los Galacticos will score at least 2 goals, what is probable even with the steel defense of Atletico. The team’s fans have to look closer to the bet of the type – Real wins/Ronaldo scores – the odds 16/5. If not he – then who?

Return of the Champions League to San Siro
Despite the Milan stadium San Siro has its glory years in its history already, it still charms and it is hard not to rejoice from this choice of the UEFA. The stadium does not belong to the number of the newest and most modern objects of Europe, and the Champions League matches were held here only in the 2012/13 season. Since that time the Milan clubs, which in total won 10 times in the European Cups, have been going through crisis in the recent years. But still, matches played on its field have a unique atmosphere. It will probably be the same this time as well.
