Daniel Sturridge found guilty in a new betting scandal
Daniel Sturridge has been banned from playing football for breaking the betting rules.
A Liverpool’s striker D. Sturridge is currently unemployed but still somehow managed messing around and getting banned. The Englishman received a short, 6-week ban starting from July 17, along with a £75,000 fine, for violating sports betting rules.
Sturridge was found guilty in 2 out of his 11 charges by the independent regulatory commission. He asked his brother Leon to place a bet on him transferring to Sevilla in January 2018, giving him inside information.
The FA doesn’t think it is enough of a punishment and seeks an appeal for the allegations.
Sturridge’s ban came a month after the former Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes who was fined £8,000, breaking the FA gambling rules more than 100 times.
