Bookmakers believe in Barcelona?! Magic of the name.

Next week (March 12) one of the big events of current round of Champions League awaits us. Is the front runner of bookmakers going to be eliminated this early from this Championship.

I must admit that Barcelona is in the problematic situation not only because its lost 2:0 against Milan, but because its shape is not too good as well. Double Grand Derby which took place last weekend ended with two lose (1:2, 1:3). In earlier league matches between Granada and Seville team from Catalonia have won getting barely goal. In the play of Barcelona flow is missing, tactics does not work as well as before, could be that opponents have found more effective one. It is hard ti say, a lot of good teams faces crisis, and the time for Barcelona apparently has come. It is worth mentioning that their attack is not not good, but the defense is even worse!

We all know that this team was created for continuous attacks, and defense was pushed back, but what to do if they are in such terrible form? Attacks does not work out, in defense they lose at least one goal every match. Apparently the antidote will be putting in more offensive players with only three defenders. It has had worked in the past, while Guardiola was their trainer, but that is a different story. Now they need to get 2 points without loosing any to get overtime. We can assume that Milan, which feels very good in counterattack, will score at least one goal, and in this situation Barcelona would have to score four. Looking at the current shape of team and Italian defensive it seems to be almost “mission impossible”.

Looking at the odds for Barcelona (1,30 for win, 2,25 for advance) it is seen that bookmakers and players still see Spanish team almost with an equal for advancing with with team Milan. What does the magic of the name? Milan plays currently really well, which was seen during the match at Giuseppe Meazzy. It is also very doubtful that the Barcelona will play extremely well during upcoming match, but the beauty of football is that it is not predictable and the faith of fans is so hard that they do believe in the win even though logic tells them something else.
