Unibet purchases an Australian bookmaker
The online gambling operator Unibet Group which has its headquarters in Malta signed a contract about purchasing of the online bookmaker Betchoice Corporation Party Limited, the purchase price makes £13.6 million.
Betchoice is an operator offering sporting bets and bets on horse races to citizens of Northern Australia. Unibet company’s representatives claimed that the agreement will have been concluded before the end of the second quarter of 2012.
The first sum will be paid in the amount of £14 million which is equal to the company’s debts. Unibet has to pay £1.63 million additionally in 2014 in case of Betchoice’s realization of the planned figures. At the moment 35 people who will be integrated into the Unibet bureau’s structure according to Scandinavian operator’s representatives are employed by Betchoice bookmaker bureau.
As the Unibet’s general director has announced this purchase is the company’s strategic step. Thanks to this purchase the bookmaker will be able to enter the attractive Australian market which is one of the biggest in the world.
