Who will win this years’ Nobel Peace Prize and Nobel literature prize?

For over 100 years now the best of the best have been receiving the Nobel Prize for their accomplishments in different fields of study. This event catches attention of society in the whole world.

In October we are going to meet the winners of Nobel Prize, but already we can bet on them at Paddy Power bookmaker. As each year, this Irish bookmaker prepared odds for the winners of Nobel Peace Prize and Nobel Literature Prize.

Candidates for Nobel Literature Prize

Swedish Academy which promotes literature and Swedish language has a very difficult task to do this year - to choose the leading author among the numerous body of writers. In 2015 the Academy received 259 proposal from which 198 were chosen. For 36 writers it is the first nomination, the rest will be fighting again for this prestigious prize.  Swedish Academy made of 18 members, after reading all works choses 5 finalists and after preparing reports among them, voting is held. Unfortunately, since 50 year rould of confidentiality has been existing among commission members, therefore they cannot give the names of finalists to the public until the moment of announcing the winner. Notwithstanding, bookmaker Paddy Power has prepared his favourites for Nobel Prize winners. According to his predictions the biggest chance to win has belarusian-ukrainian writer Svetlana Alexievich (6,00). On the second place is famous japanese writer Haruki Murakami (7,00), which was a main favorite last year. Kenyan writer Ngũgĩ wa Thiong'o (8,00) is nominated for the prize another time.

Candidates for Nobel Peace Prize
In the light of many armed conflict in the world, The Norwegian Nobel Committee will be responsible for the winners of Nobel Peace Prize. The Committee consists of 5 members qualified by Norwegian Parliament. As distinct from other prizes, Nobel Peace Prize is awarded in Oslo, not in Stockholm. This year Norwegian Committee received 276 nominations from which 227 are natural persons and 49 organizations. For the second time we have the record number of nomination in the history of this prize - last year the number of nominees was 278. Bookmaker Paddy Power as a favourite sees Eritrean priest - Mussie Zerai (6,00) who lives in Italy and helps thousands of African immigrants, which come here from different countries at risk of hunger and war. Another candidate for this prize is Novaya Gazeta (7,00) which is among nominees not for the first time. The favourite of Paddy Power is also Pope Francis, for the winning of which the bookmark set odds at 8,00.
