William Hill is intending to purchase Sportingbet's assets

The British bookmaker William Hill intends to enter the Australian market, that is why it has begun preliminary negotiations with another British bookmaker Sportingbet.

Since one year ago Ladbrokes refused to purchase Sportingbet's assets, the company was forced to turn its business down in Turkey and sold it to East Pioneer Corporation.William Hill bookmaker is intending to purchase Sportingbet's regulated assets in Australia and Spain, where the company receives its main income. Half of the incomes of Sportingbet is received namely from the Australian market, and the new Spanish market brings only around 14% of profit.

As Sportingbet's representatives have claimed, they have already gone through preliminary negotiations and William Hill has to make an official offer until 16th of October. Except from William Hill another company - GVC is also interested in purchasing the assets. A mutual offer of these companies can make even £350 million. After appearance of this news Sportingbet's share prices went up by 17% and now the market capitalization of the company has reached £340 million.
