No William Hill during Joshua vs Ruiz rematch
The biggest boxing upset of the last decade took place this June when Anthony Joshua lost all of his belts to Andy Ruiz Jr. The British champion will have a chance to revenge his loss this December.
Anthony Joshua’s loss was such a big surprise that everyone at Madison Square knew the rematch is coming up really soon. The date and location have been announced, but not everyone is happy about it. Andy Ruiz expressed his apathy about the place, which this time will be Saudi Arabia instead of USA or Mexico that he desired. Well, not only Ruiz is upset, one of the top online bookmakers William Hill, who is also in a partnership with Anthony Joshua, is not impressed by the location as well.
Saudi Arabia’s law prohibits gambling and its advertisement. Therefore Joshua’s partner will be left hanging. Luckily for the bookmaker, it will still be able to carry out its marketing campaign online and via mass media.
Despite such an obstacle, William Hill’s management stated that they are not looking to part ways with the British boxer and value this partnership.
Anyway, William Hill still favours Joshua over Ruiz, giving them 1.30 (3/10) and 3.5 (5/2) odds, respectively.
