Analysis of the semi-finals rematches in the Champions League

Behind us thrills of the first matches in the Champions League semi-finals. Will the final be against 2 German teams? Did the first matches determined the advances ?

• Barcelona : Bayern Munich

Bookmaker give Barcelona only 2% chance of winning and it seems to be quite right. If Barcelona would have scored at least one goal, probably the team's funs would still believe that it can advance to the finals. Although Barcelona's advance is almost impossible I have a feeling that upcoming rematch will evoke strong emotions. We have to keep in mind that Barcelona definitely plays better at its own field and moreover they have nothing to lose, so I bet they will try their best. It will probably attack viciously and Bayern on the other hand will probably limit itself to counterattack. Let us remember that it is easier to attack than defense that big of a score. Expansion often comes and the worst for Bayern would be 2 goals scored by Barcelona in the first half hour of the match... in this situation, everything could happen.

In this match I absolutely will bet on over 2.5. I do not believe that Barcelona will blow out this match, but will try to score as many goals as possible. Bayern with such experimental Blugrana defense will be able only to score a few, on the other hand Bayern is a scoring machine so it rather sure that they will score.

Second odds that seem to be realistic is betting on the corners on for example over 10, first match has shown that the quantity of them was above average – 15. Overall, despite the offensive play style of Barcelona in its matches there is an average of 10 corners. In this match however the opponent plays offensively that is why I will bet over 10.

I also think that Barcelona could win this match, taking into consideration their form and Camp Nou, but in this case I would not got crazy with the stake. Bayern as it shows is Bundesliga and Champions League can win an away game (for instance games against Arsenal and Juventus).

• Real Madrid: Borussia Dortmund

Is any of the Spanish teams going to play in the finals? Definitely bigger chances, (not as big though) has the team from Madrid. Goal scored during away game keeps the chance of advance at a  highest percentage. Bookmakers assess Real Madrid advance opportunity at around 14%. Is it a lot or little? In my opinion it is at the correct level. Remembering the Real can be very dangerous at home, I would not cross out its chance of winning. In general I am thinking of betting on Real Madrid's advance. Odds are high for this meeting (livebetting) if it scores some goals during first half there will be a chance to play counterattack on Borussia.

If I was to bet more money, I would absolutely play for Real's win (odds within 1,55-1,60) and over 2.5. The average of points scored by both teams seems to be the basis for calculating a high score. Victory despite of poor performance at the stadium of Borussia I see in the magic of Real Madrid's own field and lesson learned by the players in the first match. It seems to me that Lewandowski and company will try to get at leas a draw, but probably just after the final whistle they will be very happy...
